The internship, field study, or other applied learning opportunity you are preparing for is what can be defined as work integrated learning (WIL).  Also known as experiential learning, WIL is the process of creating meaning from direct experience, that is, "learning from experience". The concept was popularized by David A. Kolb.

At RRU we engage in many types of WIL. These include field studies or practicums, co-op education, internships, consulting projects, real-life case studies and more. Through these different forms of WIL, you are the agent of your own learning experience, mobilizing your classroom learning, developing new skills, and exploring career goals.
